Review:
I
had a hard time deciding whether I’d join the blog tour of this book or not.
The cover was really a big turn off to me and normally, if I don’t like the
cover of the book then I will not read it. I’m one of those people who sometimes
judge a book by its cover and the cover was screaming sex on it. But, yes, there’s a but to it. The tag line of this book
(or whatever you call it) really caught my attention. It said there, “What if once in a lifetime could happen
twice?” And suddenly, I convinced myself to look past the book cover and
focus on the contents of the book. So I tweeted Chyna of Lite-Rate-Ture!
If I could still join the tour and thankfully, she let me join. Even though the
tour sign ups was already closed.
Connected
started okay with me. I instantly liked the protagonist in the story—Dahl.
She’s really cool. I also like Ben and his ceaseless use of bad words which was
quite a surprise for me. Because I normally hate the kind of guys like Ben
(those guys that cusses too much). I
thought it would be temporary only but as the story goes on, I still found
myself liking Ben. Maybe that’s why I had a problem on connecting towards River
because right from the start I was rooting for Ben and Dahlia.
One
of the things that turn me off in a book is when the character will cheat for
another guy/girl despite him/her having a boyfriend/girlfriend already. That’s
one of my pet peeves. So when I was reading the scene where Dahlia and River
first met, the thought that was running in my mind was, “Uh-oh. I have a feeling that she would cheat and have sex with this
stranger.” And I was really pleased that it didn’t turn out like that, that
my prediction was wrong.
I
was happy how the author came up of a not so predictable way for Dahlia and
River to be together without Dahlia having to cheat on Ben. As the story
progress, my interest was slowly fading out. Like I said, maybe it’s because I
can’t feel any connection towards River and when the author killed off Ben (my
heart cried out on that scene, by the way) and focuses more to River and Dahlia,
my connection to this book wasn’t just there anymore.
Connected
left me with a lot of unanswered questions in my mind. There are a lot of
things which I am still guessing about, a lot of suspicion towards some of the
characters and a certain feeling that left me wanting for more. This book might
not be one of my favorites but I still want to know what will happen next.
P.S. My heart jump
started when I’ve read the ending of this book! Eeeeep! You’re such a tease,

This is a nice review. I am also totally the type of person who judges books based on their covers, lol. I'm glad that this one turned out to be okay, though. Maybe I will have to add this to my TBR list. : )
P.s I noticed that we share a love of many series! One of the perks of blogging for sure is getting to meet other people who have the same interests. Glad that your blog popped up on my radar!
