Summary:
It's been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.
Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.
Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.
Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels' stronghold in San Francisco where she'll risk everything to rescue her sister and he'll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

Review:
*deep breathe* Okay, I’m still high from Angelfall.
And it left me in an incoherent state. I need a moment. *tries to compose
herself*
If someone will ask me what I think of Angelfall, one
word will only leave my mouth. Amazing.
It truly is an amazing book. And I’ve got to admit that this is by far the most
awesome-est Angel book I’ve ever read in my entire life. I will not tell a
detailed review about this book—because I’m still in the state of
speechlessness—instead, I’ll list off 5 reasons why you should must read
Angelfall.
5
Reasons Why You Must Read Angelfall
11.
A
kickass heroine
It’s
rare to find books that has heroine that you will surely love. Because let’s
face it, most YA books we read have heroines that are either too whiny or too
perfect in their freaking imperfect world but Angelfall has neither of those
two. The heroine, Penryn, is a teenage girl who has a disabled younger sister
and a one heck of a crazy mother. Now put those all up in a world of chaos, of
a world were hope is a forgotten word. Normally, we’ll get a heroine who likes
to complain about her miserable situation or who’ll have moments wherein she’ll
get depress or feel like all the hope in the world is gone but not Penryn,
never Penryn. She’s a strong girl. She never complains. If life will throw
burdens at her, she’ll just carry that burden on her back and carry on with her
life. She also loves her sister too much that she’s willing to do everything
just to get her back. Despite the utter chaos their world is in, she’ll do
anything to survive. Not for her own sake but for her family. She tries her
hardest to be strong because in not doing so, who will she rely on? Her crazy
mother? Her sister who can’t even walk on her own? She has no one to rely on
that’s why she has to carry on her back everything in order for their family to
survive. If that will not make you like her, then I don’t know what is.
22. Raffe
It
always takes time for me to warm up to any love interest of the heroine in any
book so it’s quite a surprise when I had an instant connection towards Raffe. I
know this word is a bit overused but I’ll still say it, Raffe is pretty much an
amazing character. How can I tell? Well, you have to read the book to find out.
33.
Concept
We usually read in
books that angels are good people, that they do not bring harm to the mankind.
But that’s not what it’s like for the angel concept for Angelfall. It’s far
from that. It’s a bit ironic, really. In here, Angels are the Harbinger of
Doom, instead of helping out mankind, they’re killing them. Can’t imagine that,
can you? Then read the book to know how in the hell did it end up like that.
44.
Heart
stopping scenes
That, my friend, I tell
you, is the truth. There are a lot of heart stopping, sitting at the edge of
scene and shouting curses moments that you will experience when you read this
book.
55.
LOL
moments
This book exudes
seriousness but that doesn’t mean it does not have any funny scenes in it.
There are, in fact, quite a few of them. But what really amused me so much was
the “catfight” scene. You’ll know what I mean when you read it. ;)
I’m not urging you to read Angelfall, I am
commanding you to go get a copy and read it. And when you do, buy the 2nd
book too. Because you mind and body will crave for it when you get to the last
part of the book. Trust me, I've learned my lesson already.
